  • National Geographic Society Names Dr. Vicki Phillips Chief Education Officer

    I am pleased to share the news that Dr. Vicki Phillips will join the National Geographic Society as our Chief Education Officer.

    Vicki is an accomplished and nationally recognized leader in education serving in various roles over the past decades, including: teacher, education policymaker, non-profit leader, superintendent, chief state school officer, and director of education at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In this new role, she will lead our ambitious education agenda, which seeks to ignite the spirit of exploration in students and equip educators with the tools to teach geographic competency. Vicki has a close familiarity with our ambitious Education strategy as she has been consulting with our Education team for the past few months.
