Bio

Lyndsie Bourgon is a writer, oral historian, and National Geographic Explorer based in  British Columbia. 

She writes about the environment and its entanglement with history, culture, and identity, and has been published in National Geographic, The Atlantic, the Guardian, the Oxford American, Aeon, The Walrus, Roads & Kingdoms, Hazlitt, and elsewhere. In 2018, she traveled to Peru with National Geographic to document indigenous experiences of timber poaching.

She has an MLitt Environmental History (Distinction) from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and a Bachelor of Journalism (Honours) from the University of King's College in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
